Things to take home
Puno is a good place to buy highland crafts, especially cheap alpaca clothing. For high-quality items, Cusco, Arequipa and Lima are much better. However, there are some good quality, traditional knitted woollen items available on Taquile. Souvenirs made of the totora reeds from the Uros islands are also traditional.
Supermarkets
There is a small supermarket at Jr. Lima 359. This has a basic selection, and for fruit, etc the market is better.
Markets
The market in Puno is on Jr. Ugarte, two blocks from Parque Pino. This has a good selection of food, and is cheaper than the shops in town. Be careful here, however, as robberies have occurred.
Photography
There are many shops on Jr. Lima selling and developing films.
