Peru Guide : The South Coast > From Ica to Nazca

It is a two hour-journey from Ica to Nazca, with the only town of interest on the route being Palpa, in a fruit-growing area. Palpa is a largish town about halfway between Ica and Nazca, and there are a number of archaeological sites near the town, including the Petroglyphs de Chichictara, 10km from Palpa, and the ruins of Huarury and Tibillo. There is no tourist infrastructure in Palpa, so the only way to see the sites is to hire a taxi. There are a few hotels in the town near the Plaza de Armas.
