Peru Guide : Pisco, Paracas and the Islas Ballestas > Getting here

Pisco is about 5km from the Pan-American Highway, so most buses do not enter the town itself. If arriving in Pisco, and your bus does not enter the town, you can catch a taxi or mototaxi from the Pan-American Highway . There are plenty of taxis throughout the day and the night.

Few buses enter Paracas directly (although Ormeño does have a Royal Class service to the Hotel Paracas from Nazca and Lima ), so you will have to catch a combi from Pisco. These take about 20 minutes and pass along the seafront.

Lima

Most buses to Lima leave from the crossroads on the highway, so you will have to go there. However, Ormeño (corner of Ayacucho and San Francisco ) has 8 buses daily from Pisco to Lima that leave from the town itself. Lima is 4 hours from Pisco (or 3 hours on a non-stop bus).

Ica

Saky has buses that leave from Pisco every 20 minutes from Calle Pedemonte 190. The journey takes less than an hour.

Chincha

Buses and colectivos to Chincha leave from the 3 rd block of Calle Comercio, taking 40 minutes.

Ayacucho

There are plenty of buses daily that leave from San Clemente, 7km from Pisco.

The south

There are no buses direct from Pisco to Arequipa, so you will have to catch a bus from the crossroads on the highway. However, you can buy tickets from the Ormeño office beforehand, and they will transport you to the crossroads.
