The best of the seaside towns south of Lima is Pucusana, a traditional fishing village with a pretty harbour. 60km south of the city, it makes a good break from Lima , and is nice for a day or two in summer. Hiring a boat for an hour or two is pleasant, and the Boquerón del Diablo (Devil's mouth) is an interesting cave in the cliff face from which an incredible groaning sound is emitted. You can get a fisherman to take you out on his boat and sea lions may be seen. The Playa Naplo , close to the town, is a nice sandy beach with relatively calm seas for swimming. Many wealthy Limeños have beach houses near the beach.
