Things to take home
There are several craft shops on the Plaza de Armas and on Jr. Pimentel, selling jungle crafts. There is also a craft fair on Jr. Grau, 2 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Many of these craft shops sell beautiful fossils from around Tarapoto. However, prices tend to be very expensive. Far better is to go to John Rasetto?s house, at Jr. Hurtado 356, T 522773, where he has a large collection of fossils and petrified trees for sale.

Mercado Titos, at Gregorio Delgado 129, is a mini market with a reasonable selection.

The Mercado Central, selling food, is on Jr. Pimentel, 2 blocks from the Plaza de Armas.
