Peru Guide : Piura > Getting here

Air connections

Piura has an airport with daily flights to Lima via Chiclayo. The Aerocontinente office is at Grau 172. A taxi to the airport should cost $2.

Bus connections

Piura has good bus connections up and down the coast, and there are also buses inland to Huancabamba and Ayabaca. Most bus companies have offices on Sánchez Cerro.

North

There are many different levels of services, from the most basic, without a bathroom, to the luxurious bus-camas, with fully reclining, comfortable seats with dinner service included. Ittsa (Sánchez Cerro cuadra 11) has a good bus-cama service for $20.

Cruz del Sur (Circumvalación cuadra 1, near the centre) has basic services at 4.30pm, 5.45pm, 7.30pm and 8,30pm for $11. A better service leaves at 6pm and 6.45pm for $17. Bus-cama services leave at 5.30pm, 7pm and 9.15pm with fares from $23 to $28.

Civa (Av. Tacna de Castilla, over river on pedestrian footbridge) has a basic service at 5pm for $11, a comfortable service at 6pm for $14 and a semi-cama service at 6pm for $20.
