An impressive paved road goes from Huancayo to Lima, taking around 6 hours by bus. Most people go straight between the two towns, although there are a few places worth stopping at. Unfortunately, the train line between the two cities currently has no passenger service, although there is talk of this being reopened in the future. This is one of the great train journeys in the world, passing the highest point of any standard gauge train line in the world.
