Peru Guide : Cusco > From Cusco towards Manu

The road from Cusco towards Manu passes through some spectacular mountain scenery, with the road to Paucartambo clinging to the side of the mountain. This road used to be so narrow that it was one-way only. On certain days the traffic went towards Manu, and on the other days towards Cusco. The road has improved significantly in recent years, and traffic can now flow in both directions. However, whether this has resulted in a safer road is debatable, as the road is still far too narrow for two cars to cross on certain sections. Before reaching Paucartambo there are some Inca funerary towers visible by the side of the road.
