Communications
There are Internet cafes in most of the towns in the valley. There are also post offices in Calca and Urubamba.
Crime and safety
The Sacred Valley is relatively safe. However, it is best to be always be alert. Each town has a small police station.
Health
There are hospitals in Urubamba and Calca, although neither of these is very large, and you are better off going to Cusco if you need medical attention.
Local transport
There are plenty of buses between the towns of the Sacred Valley. If you stand by the side of the main road, a bus will pass and take you to where you are going. To get to Ollantaytambo, buses only leave from Urubamba.
Money
There are no banks in the Sacred Valley, apart from the obligatory Banco de la Nación. However, the Banco de Crédito has installed a (Visa) cash machine in Urubamba. It is also easy to change dollars in the towns, although you normally get a worse rate than in Cusco.
